Start with the distance between the handler's hand and the dog's attachment ring. M provides the shorter connection. L adds 21 cm of length and 60 g of product weight. For a length check, straighten the finished lead on a table and read from the tip of the clip to the furthest end of the loop. Measure across the strap for width. The measurement note allows approximately 2 cm variation from manual measurement; settle the production tolerance when approving the sample.

From the Lined Grip to the Locking Clip

The handle puts black neoprene between the hand and the nylon. This lining follows the inside of the loop, while the outside retains the colored webbing. When assessing a sample, feel the inner edge as well as the middle of the grip: both areas contribute to how the handle sits in the hand.

Reflective threads form parallel lines along the strap. They pick up light directed toward the webbing and remain part of the visible design during the day. The photographed versions combine these lines with solid colors and a contrasting black logo patch.

At the attachment end, a zinc alloy clip provides a locking closure. Check its opening and lock with the ring it will connect to, particularly if the leash will be paired with a collar from an existing collection. The sewn returns at the handle and clip are also useful points to examine on the finished sample.

Give the Short Lead a Place in Your Brand Range

A small product still needs a recognizable identity. The PVC patch sits on the strap near the hardware, giving the label a defined position in product photography. Letter size, patch proportions and distance from the sewn joint deserve attention on a lead this short.

The illustrated palette contains twelve colors. Black, Gray and Beige provide neutral choices. Royal Blue, Sky Blue, Mint Green and Lime Green extend the blue and green selection. Agree the Finished Sample Before Scheduling the Order

Sample approval brings the color, construction and presentation together. Examine the lining edges, stitched joints and reflective rows, then operate the closure several times with the intended attachment ring. Compare the PVC patch against the artwork, including its position and lettering.

Record the accepted dimensions and keep clear photographs of the handle, clip and label. An approved sample gives both sides a physical reference for repeat orders. Where a project includes laboratory work, the quotation should identify the requested test method, acceptance criteria and report requirements before testing is arranged.

1. Should a collection include M, L or both?

Use the expected holding position as the starting point. The 25 cm option keeps the connection shorter, while the 46 cm version gives the hand more reach. Evaluate both against the dogs and attachment heights your collection is intended for.

2. Must a custom logo use the same patch shape?

Send the shape and dimensions you want with your logo file. Available strap space and the location of the stitching determine which proposals can be developed. The sample should show the agreed PVC patch before the artwork is used for production.
