Military dogs usually use some special, highly functional and durable collars to meet the special needs of their tasks, common are the following:
Tactical collar

  • Features: Generally made of high strength nylon or leather material, with good wear resistance and tear resistance. The design is generally broad and can evenly distribute the tension, reducing the pressure on the dog's neck. The collar is equipped with multiple metal rings or hooks for easy connection of lead ropes, tactical equipment, etc. Some tactical collars also come with a quick-release device that allows the collar to be quickly removed in an emergency.
  • Application scenario: Suitable for military dogs to perform a variety of tactical tasks, such as tracking, search and rescue, patrol and so on. During these missions, dogs are required to wear a variety of equipment, and tactical collars provide a stable connection point for these equipment, while ensuring comfort and flexibility during movement.

Tattooed collar

  • Features: Also known as a "Planck collar," it usually consists of a metal chain or leather wrapped metal spines. The metal thorn is not designed to harm the military dog, but in training and work, when the military dog has a wrong behavior or needs to correct the direction, by moderately pulling the collar, the metal thorn will produce a certain pressure on the dog's neck skin, so as to provide a clear feedback signal to the military dog to help it better understand the command and regulate the behavior.
  • Application scenario: It is mainly used for the obedience training of military dogs, especially in some occasions that need to strictly regulate the behavior of military dogs, such as performing guard tasks and cooperating with troops. The spear collar allows the handler to control the dog's behavior more effectively, ensuring that the dog maintains a high degree of compliance when performing its duties.

Electronic collar

  • Features: The electronic collar is usually composed of two parts, one part is the main body of the collar worn on the neck of the military dog, and the other part is the remote control in the hand of the trainer. The main body of the collar has electronic chips, batteries and electrodes and other components, and the remote control can control the collar to send different degrees of electric shock, vibration or sound signals. These signals can be used as an auxiliary means to train military dogs, helping trainers to command and control military dogs within a certain distance.
  • Application scenario: Electronic collars can play an important role in long-distance training of military dogs, task execution in complex environments, or the need for precise control of military dogs. For example, in a field search mission, the handler can guide the dog to search a specific area through the signal sent by the electronic collar, and when the dog deviates from the task area or has dangerous behavior, it can also be corrected through the electronic collar in time.

An anti-bite collar

  • Features: Generally made of strong materials, such as metal, high-strength plastics, etc., with high hardness and bite resistance. The design is usually thick and can effectively protect the neck of the dog from other animals or enemies. Some anti-bite collars also add some protection to the surface, such as spikes or bumps, to increase deterrence against attackers.
  • Application scenario: When military dogs perform tasks that may face the risk of attack, such as drug enforcement, arrest and other tasks against criminals or dangerous animals, anti-bite collars can provide important security for military dogs and reduce the risk of neck injury.
