- Non-toxic: Neoprene itself is a synthetic rubber, under normal circumstances does not contain toxic substances to dogs, and will not be like some toxic plants or chemicals, which can directly cause serious health problems such as poisoning after being touched or licked by dogs. As long as the dog is not a large number of nibbling neoprene products, basically will not cause acute toxic reactions due to ingestion.
- Good stability: It has good chemical stability, in the daily use environment, it is not easy to decompose and produce harmful substances, and it will not deteriorate rapidly because of contact with common substances such as air and water, and can maintain a relatively stable state, thereby reducing the possibility of potential harm to the dog.
Possible risks
- Allergic reaction: Some dogs' skin may be allergic to some ingredients in neoprene, and allergic dogs may have symptoms such as redness, itching, rash and even hair removal after contact. If the dog frequently scratches the neck after wearing the neoprene collar, skin damage and other conditions, it is likely to be allergic to it.
- High temperature hazards: In high temperature environments, neoprene may become soft and even release some odors. While these scents are not necessarily toxic, they may cause your dog discomfort.
