You can put an AirTag tag on your pet, but there are some ways to use it and precautions:
Installation mode
- Use a pet collar: You can buy a pet collar specifically designed to fit the AirTag, or use some protective cases with clasps to attach the AirTag to the pet collar. This is a common way for owners to track the location of their pets at any time through the AirTag on the collar. Make sure the collar is the right size for your pet, is not too tight to cause discomfort or affect circulation, and is not too loose to fall off easily.
- Use a harness: For some pets that do not fit the collar or are prone to slipping it off, such as cats or small dogs, there is also the option to attach the AirTag to the pet harness. The harness spreads the stress more evenly and reduces discomfort for your pet, while also securing the AirTag more firmly and reducing the risk of loss.
- Paste on pet supplies: If you are worried about the safety risks of direct contact with the AirTag, you can also paste the AirTag on the items that the pet often uses, such as pet backpacks, lead ropes, etc. In this way, when you take your pet out, you can also track the approximate location of your pet through the AirTag. But be careful to paste firmly to avoid the AirTag falling off during pet activities.
Matters needing attention
- Prevent ingestion: Ensure that the AirTag and fixed accessories are firmly installed to prevent pets from ingesting the AirTag when it becomes loose and falls off during activities. Once the pet eats the AirTag, it may cause serious problems such as intestinal blockage and battery leakage, which will cause great harm to the pet's health.
- Avoid allergies: Some pets may be allergic to the AirTag material or glue used for pasting. Before use, you can first try AirTag on a small area of the pet for a period of time to observe whether the pet has allergic reactions such as skin redness, itching, and rashes. If allergic, stop using immediately.
- Note the signal: although the AirTag has a certain signal transmission range, if the pet runs to a place where the signal is seriously blocked, such as a closed basement, elevator, etc., it may affect the signal transmission, resulting in inaccurate or unable to locate.
