- Collection: When your pet defecates, you use the poop bag to pick up the feces. You can either turn the bag inside out over your hand, pick up the poop, and then turn the bag right side out again to contain it, or use a scooper to place the poop into the bag.
- Containment: The bag is made of a durable and leak - resistant material, usually plastic - like polyethylene, which prevents the feces from coming into contact with the environment, minimizing odors and reducing the risk of spreading bacteria and other contaminants.
- Disposal: After collection, you can tie the bag closed with a knot to keep the contents secure and then dispose of it in an appropriate waste bin. Some communities have specific regulations regarding the disposal of pet waste, such as requiring it to be placed in a designated pet waste receptacle or even bagging it and putting it in the regular trash. In some cases, there may be options for composting pet waste if the bags are made of biodegradable materials.
